  • Why should I use Win-Kel?

    People drive miles and miles to store their belongings and end up paying hundreds of dollars a month. Unfortunately, what makes this worse, is that many of these storage units do not have a good security system in place. Win-Kel solves all these problems by allowing you to search for storage spaces nearby with much more affordable price and a higher security standard.

  • What kind of spaces are there?

    There are many kinds of spaces which are listed including but not limited to the space in the basement, attic, extra bedroom, shelter, and garage. You are welcome to be creative about the space you are renting out.

  • Is there an agreement a Host and a Storage Renter have to sign?

    Yes, both a Storage Renter and a Host have to sign the Rental Agreement written by Win-Kel in order to complete the transaction. No additional agreements are allowed to be made during the transaction.

  • Can I delete my phone number from the app?

    It is not possible to keep the account without your phone number as we maintain the account security using SMS validation.

  • What happens if someone contacts me for something not relating to Win-Kel?

    Please contact us right away.

  • How do I change my password?

    1. Go to settings
    2. Click "Logout"
    3. Go to the login screen
    4. Click "Forgot Password"
    5. Enter the Email ID used to login
    6. Type your new password twice and put the 6-digit code sent via SMS, then click "Reset Password"

  • I forgot my password. How can I reset my password?

    1. Go to the login screen

  • Renter's Concern

  • Is there insurance to protect my stuff?

    Many homeowner and rental insurance policies cover belongings stored outside your home. So if you carry insurance, your belongings will likely be protected. Please check your policy before you make a transaction so that you can get a proper insurance if necessary. Win-Kel will, in the future, offer insurance to protect your belongings.

  • How do I pay the rent?

    Once your booking request is accepted by a host, you will receive a payment request either on Venmo, Quickpay, or Square Cash, whichever platform you select when yuo send a booking request.

  • How is the rent calculated?

    The rent is calculated based on three factors: size of the space requested, the duration of the rent, and the base rent charged by the Host.

  • Is my payment information safe?

    All we have is the user ID of Venmo, Quickpay, or Square Cash, so there's no threat of getting your credentials stolen or leaked.

  • How can I change my payment information?

    1. Go to settings
    2.Click "My Payment Method"
    3.You can edit some of your payment information in the settings in case you are issued a new card.

  • Can I cancel my pending requests?

    1. Go to "My Requests"
    2. Click "Pending Requests"
    3. Click the request you want to cancel
    4. Click the cancel button on the bottom of the page

  • What items can I store?

    You can store practically anything that is not illegal, flammable, combustible, explosive, corrosive, chemical, odorous, perishable, noxious, or other inherently dangerous materials. If you are unsure whether the items you want to store fall under this category, please contact Win-Kel at contact@win-kel.com.

  • Will my items be secure?

    Hosts are not allowed to touch the belongings you have stored. As specified in "Release of Liability" clause in the Rental Agreement, it is highly recommended for the Storage Renter to take photos of the belongings to be stored so that you can prove damages if there are any.

  • What should I do after I send a request?

    The storage space has not yet booked when you send the request. Here is how the booking process works:
    1. You send a request to the Host ("Pending Requests”)
    2. The Host accepts the request ("Accepted Requests”)
    3. You confirm the request ("Confirmed Requests”)
    4. Now the storage space is booked. You and the Host can discuss other details such as the timing of moving-in.
    All requests Pending Requests, Accepted Requests, and Confirmed Requests can be checked in "My Listings.”

  • How do I confirm the requests accepted by the Host?

    Go to “My Listings”
    1. Click “Accepted Requests”
    2. Click the request you want to accept
    3. Click the accept button on the bottom of the page
    4. Now the storage space is booked. You and the Host communicate to discuss other details such as the timing of moving-in.

  • How many requests can I make?

    You can make as many requests as you would like, but please be aware that once you confirm a request, it is not possible to cancel it.

  • Can I make requests to the same Host more than once?

    Yes, but please make sure to explain to the Host why you are sending more than one message either via SMS or in the item description page.

  • How can I access the storage space?

    The access methods and frequency vary depending on the listing. Please read the storage description, provided by your Host, carefully.

  • I don’t have a car, can I get a transportation for moving-in and out?

    There are Hosts who offer transportation. You can filter and search only the Hosts who offer transportation.

  • Can I have someone else move my belongings in or out?

    Depending on if the Host allows this or not. Make sure to communicate with them prior to the request. As stated in the Rental Agreement, you will be liable for the damages made by the people you bring to move-in or out.

  • Can I cancel my pending requests?

    1. Go to “My Requests”
    2. Click “Pending Requests”
    3. Click the request you want to cancel
    4. Click the cancel button on the bottom of the page

  • Can I cancel the storage that is already booked?

    Once the payment process has been completed, it is not possible to proceed the refund through Win-Kel. The Win-Kel service fee of 20% will not be refunded and the party who initiated the cancellation is liable for covering the loss of another party with this event.

  • What’s the duration for the rent?

    Another advantage of using Win-Kel is its flexibility of rental term. You can rent out a storage space for however long you wish as long as there is a storage space which meets your demand.



  • Host's Concerns

  • Is there any insurance to protect my storage?

    If you have a homeowner’s insurance, then please check its clauses. Some of them protect the damages incurred during renting out spaces, and some of them don’t. Win-Kel will, in the future, offer insurance to protect your space!

  • How do I receive the rent?

    You will receive the rent either on Venmo, Quickpay, or Square Cash.

  • Who decides the rent?

    You decide the rent as the 6th step during the storage space registration. Win-Kel gives the recommended rent for the area in which you have the storage space. Whether or not to use this recommended price is up to you. You can accept it, go lower, go higher, whatever you feel is appropriate for your space.

  • How is the rent calculated?

    The rent for each Storage Renter is decided on the basis of how much space (in square feet) and the duration the Storage Renter is wanting to rent out. The Win-Kel app automatically calculates the rent for each Storage Renter’s space utilizing your base rent.

  • What happens if the Storage Renter does not pay the rent?

    In the monthly payment system, like the system traditional storage companies use face, this missed or late payments are a problem. But this does not happen in Win-Kel because the Storage Renter pays everything upfront. If the Storage Renter does not pay the rent by the move-in date, you as the Host are welcome to deny the entrance of the Storage Renter.

  • Is my payment information safe?

  • Are taxes subtracted from the rent?

    Tax is not subtracted from the rent. As tax laws vary depending on the state and the country you live in, so please check with your local government for applicable taxes and payments.

  • Can I know ahead of time what the Storage Renter is going to store?

    Yes, Storage Renters are obligated to write the description of the items to be stored. In order to make it more comfortable for Hosts, there is a clause which allows Hosts to ask for an inspection. Host must communicate with Storage Renter at least [7] days prior to the Move-In Date in order to conduct an inspection. Please refer to “5.4. Inspection of Belonging Prior to Storage” in the Win-Kel’s Terms and Conditions for more details (Link to Terms and Conditions).

  • Is there a risk that a Storage Renters store illegal or dangerous items in my space?

    Win-Kel’s Rental Agreement prohibits all Storage Renters to store illegal or dangerous items. It is important to detect these items before they are stored in your space by inspecting the items. In case of infringement, please contact Win-Kel. Hosts may remove the items with the consultant of Police. Please refer to the “Use and Access” clause in the Win-Kel’s Rental Agreement for more details (Link to Rental Agreement).

  • Do I have to give an access to my space all the time?

    Not necessarily. It is your freedom to decide when to give access to your space. Please make sure to specify the accessibility in the storage description, but keep in mind that Renters may be discouraged to store with you if you have little to no accessibility. You may edit the storage description in My Listings.

  • What happens if the Storage Renter does not pick up the belongings by the move-out date?

  • Am I really allowed to rent out my space?

    There are some cases when the landlord prohibits tenants to rent out their spaces. We suggest you to check your lease before renting out your space.

  • Can I make only one listing?

    You can make as many listings as you wish and make extra money with your empty spaces.

  • Can I delete my listing?

    You can delete your listings if they do not have any accepted or confirmed request. If the listing you are trying to delete has a pending request, the request gets denied once you delete the listing. If the listing you want to delete has an accepted or confirmed request, you can inactivate the listing so that no one will send any more request to the listing. You will be able to delete the listing once the term of all the accepted and confirmed requests are over.

  • What is an active storage?

    The storage listings which can be shown in the search results when Renters search for a storage space.

  • What is an inactive storage?

    The storage listings which can never been searched by app users, hence will never receive a request.

  • How to change the status of an active storage to inactive and vice-versa?

    Go to my Listings page and mark your storage.

  • What should I do after I receive a request?

    There is no limit to the number of requests you could receive. Please be aware that Confirmed Requests can not be terminated.

  • Can I cancel the request I once accepted?

    You can cancel the request if it has not been confirmed by the Storage Renter. Once it is Confirmed, it is not possible to cancel the request any longer. In order to cancel the Accepted Requests, please follow these steps:
    1. Go to “Storage Requests”
    2. Click “Accepted Requests”
    3. Find and click the request you want to cancel
    4. Click the cancel button on the bottom of the page

  • Can I cancel the Confirmed Requests?

    Once the request is confirmed, the payment has gone through. Once the payment process has completed, it is not possible to proceed the refund through Win-Kel. The Win-Kel service fee of 20% will not be refunded and the party who initiated the cancellation is liable for covering the loss of another party with this event.
